(APH) Captain Arthur Kirkland by Kateliana (APH) Captain Arthur Kirkland by Kateliana
This, my followers/friends, is my other Pirate Arthur cosplay. I personally love this coat (it cost me a lot but it was so worth it OTL)
I also realised that I look more like a lady than I do in the other photo. I think it's the eyeliner. I tried to make it more pirate-y, but that didn't happen for this picture |D
EDIT: Can any of you catch the Pirates of the Caribbean part of this piece? :ahoy:

at first: Idea (great: the bottle) and transfer in a Photo with convenient Background as a back lighted shot is very good. The toning is very pleasant. Posing and the look that shows how she disrespect the person she looked at is great and authentic. But: the photo could have some more sharpness (looks like a snapshot). I searched for the sword - a pirat is nothing without it, so in my opinion the sword should be in the foreground and not hidden like here. The red ribbon at the left side redirect the eye in its direction, so i would remove it. And last not least the zip at the boot don´t match to the time so i would remove it too.
Last word: all of the critique points (outside the sharpness) are peanuts, it is a good photo how it is.
What do you think?

Hey you look like you know a lot about cosplay, so i have a question and would be glad of you could help c:

I have a revolutionary war England cosplay and have a sword for it (sheath included) but I'm not sure whether it goes on the outside of the coat or the inside...I'm not too willing to wear a belt on the outside of the coat because it would look tacky, but of the cosplay would look better since the sword would be more visible, then I'd make the exception.

Advice? ^^"

Actually what they usually did back then was have a belt that actually went over their shoulder the opposite of the side they wielded the sword. That way it was quick to the draw. You can see how they have it in this drawing: [link]
As you can see, the sword actually drapes across him and on one side. Not only is it quick to the draw, but it also keeps it on them and they don't have to worry about it slipping off their waist!
Hope this helps! :)

Thanks, I've been looking for a reference picture! A problem though is that i have a rifle sling across that shoulder, but i have been greatly considering removing the gun from the cosplay because it's an inaccurate replica of guns they actually used in that period of time. While we're on the topic, and since you've been willing to help me thus far, would you know an online store or anything that would sell a "toy" or fake bayonet? Thank you so much for your advice so far! C:

Ummm... I think the only place would be on eBay, since I haven't actually found any other places that sell them ^^;
(Also so sorry I replied so late... I've been in England and I haven't had as much internet as I usually do OTL)
